Lab 1: Setting Up the Lab Environment

  • Create a Data Center and Add ESX Hosts
  • View the vNetwork Standard Switch Configuration
  • Create a VMkernel Port on the Standard Switch, vSwitch0
  • Create ISCSI Datastores
  • Create a Virtual Machine Port Group on vSwitch0
  • Add the Virtual Machine to the vCenter Server Inventory
  • Clone the Virtual Machine and Verify Connectivity

Lab 2: Install the Cisco Nexus 1000V VSM

  • Prepare the VLAN infrastructure
  • Installation

Lab 3: Install the Cisco Nexus 1000V VEM

  • Create VLANs and an Uplink Port Profile
  • Connect the Cisco Nexus1000V VEM to the Cisco Nexus 2000 Fabric Extender
  • Create a Data Port Profile for Virtual Machines

  • Modify the Uplink Port Profile to Implement MAC Pinning
  • Assign Additional VMNICs to MAC Pinning Uplink Port Profile
