An Introduction to PLCs Followed by Advanced Training in PLC Troubleshooting

Course Description

5 day Hands-on
4.0 Continuing Education Credits

The following sub-components are available:
PLC Automation Systems
Fundamentals of Programmable Logic Controllers

During this five-day course, learn how operator interfaces (OIs, or human machine interfaces–HMIs) integrate with a PLC to access information about the machine. You will discover that the HMI is a well designed real-time troubleshooting tool when properly programmed. The first two days of this course focuses on the fundamentals. You’ll spend 60% of the time in hands-on lab exercises programming the PLC, configuring and setting up screens, control devices, alarms, fault logs and much more on the HMI. Learn how the HMI can tell the operator exactly what is wrong with the machine and how oft en it has failed. You’ll leave with valuable skills for effective repairs, troubleshooting and maintenance.

If you want to focus solely on fundamentals of programmable logic controllers, you might be interested in this shorter 3-Day Hands-on Course: Fundamentals of Programmable Logic Controllers

If you want to focus solely on PLC automation systems, you might be interested in this 2-Day Hands-on Course: PLC Automation Systems.
