The guidelines of the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission states that the best way for an employer to deal with sexual harassment, intimidation and bullying is to do everything possible to prevent it in the first place.

This includes: “affirmatively raising the subject, speaking up and expressing disapproval, having the ability to speak to human resources without fear of reprisals, and developing appropriate sanctions.

Every employee has a right to expect to work in a non-hostile workplace environment. The cost in both financial loss and emotional pain caused by an intimidating workplace is completely preventable.
